If you are looking for the best table saw on the market then make sure to take the DEWALT DW745 Table Saw under consideration.
It has a high quality 24 toothed carbide blade and it produces a staggering 3,850 RPM easily without affecting the cutting speed. This table saw offers a boatload of tools, accessories and stability improvements over its competitors and is backed up with a robust lifetime guarantee. This is a compact contractor table saw. It is perfect for fieldwork and any range of DIY projects.
Woodworking and on-site construction are not my forte’, but I dabble a lot in both fields for many reasons. You’d understand this theory if you have been working with lumber for a long time; everything about it just seems so intriguing.
You start off with a DIY project here and there; maybe a couple of training videos on the internet, and the next thing you know is the same ol’ ‘Hey-this-seems-like-a-cool-project’ dilemma. Things seldom turn out as per the tutor instructions, or whatever he made by the end of the project.
Part of the reason as to why my first book rack seemed wonky was because I wasn’t using a good cutting power tool. It was a small handsaw; the measurements were lined down using a carpenter pencil, and things just got out of control.
What I learned from that experience several years ago was that had I used a good quality handheld saw, or a table saw for that matter, the DIY project may have finished differently. This best table saw review write up is my way of redeeming for those early “woodworker” mistakes, which everyone stumbles upon at the start of their career.

Buying a table saw for the first time is not easy. I thought it’d be easy for me to watch a couple of videos, try out a few table saw tutorials and then go with a particular brand. It wasn’t that simple. I was dead wrong because there are different techniques involved in cutting wood panels, DIY projects and vice versa. All these components are like building blocks in woodworking.
Also, I didn’t have any knowledge about dado blades or bevel angle cuts. Circular saws are easy to operate as long as bevel cuts are concerned, but when you are working with table saws, it’s an entirely different game out there.
It is true that table saws are very simple in their construction, but there are a lot of aspects that count. The mere absence or presence of a particular “small” feature can act as a means to an end – sometimes the entire project outcome depends on it.
There are hundreds of table saws out there – therefore, it was not literally possible for me to write about each and every brand. However, I did handpick a few models that were up to a certain standard worth recommending in this table saw review.
But hey! If you are not into reading stuff, just go out there and survey the market. Talk to different dealers; mention your expectations vs. project specifications, and you will eventually settle down for a specific brand. The reason I am going to talk about the best table saw for 2018 in the appended paragraphs is because the following products were personally tested by me.
Everyone at Powertoolbuzz recommends stuff which has been tried, trusted and considered for reliability against competitor products.
Take a look below at some of the best table saws that I selected for you. All of these were individually reviewed at Powertoolbuzz; you can read those reviews by visiting the table saw category section at this website.
You can read the entire DW745 table saw review on what we consider the best table saw in the separate table saw review section, or scroll down at the end of this post to see what I'm talking about. This is an ideal tool for intermediate level and seasonal users. Also, if you look at the site pro modular build quality, and different safety features, you are practically investing in a very stable product.
Some of the main features of Dewalt DW745 series table saw are listed below:
**Don’t forget to read about carbide blades in the latter sections of this best table saw review. You can also carry out your own research on carbide vs. stainless steel blades dilemma. The safest bet would be to buy table saws and cutting tools with carbide “tipped” blades. They offer a safe haven to those who do not want to remain stuck with bent tips or hefty repair bills.
Bosch is the brain and brawn of electronics to a great extent. They have an even greater reach in the international market, especially in Asia and South Asia regions. I tried their electronic items initially before dipping my feet in the power tools niche. Bosch’s AC splitters, high resistance circuit breakers and plugs are extremely reliable.
Table saws were a different niche’, and to be honest, I bought the Bosch 4100-09 10-Inch Worksite Table Saw on a whim. Since I trusted the company, I figured that buying their table saw won’t be a loss of energy and hard earned cash. This is a great product with a multitude of on board perks.
Craftsman Evolv is more like a hit and miss case for table saw owners. I was unfortunate for ending up with a faulty unit, but that shouldn’t be a reason to discourage you from buying this amazing product or mentioning it in this table saw review. Craftsman Evolv 28461 model is all about affordability and getting the basic cutting maneuvers done in a legit manner.
The manufacturers wanted to create a table saw for entry level users who are more into DIY projects as compared to professional contractors. Only buy this model if you have to. The unit I bought came with a misaligned blade and faded miter gauge. If you have read my Craftsman Evolv 28461 table saw review before, you know what I am talking about.
I contacted a few friends in the industry and they told me that the blade misalignment issue is not persistent in the entire product lineup. Maybe I was the one and only case who had to have that unit. Anyhow, some of the main highlights and setbacks of Craftsman Evolv 28461 10 Inch table saw are appended below.
Next one on the best table saw list is Makita with their trusty ol’ model: 2705. This is a 10-Inch Contractor category table saw, and it is laced with high performance, dependability and solid build quality. These are few main traits that table saw lovers look for whenever they are prowling for a decent power tool.
My only gripe with the Makita 2705 series is that it comes with a 10 inch blade. This is not a particular setback for general users, but professionals tend to avoid table saws with smaller blade sets. The size restricts them from taking on bigger projects. Out of the box, this table saw may be a little difficult for you to assemble. However, Makita has included a diagram based instructions manual to help ease the assembly process.
You can also watch a few YouTube videos if it is your first time with this table saw. Overall, it is a good substitute for a hybrid table saw. Hybrid power tools can be expensive, so Makita made something to help intermediate users with affordability issues.
SKIL 3410-02 was released as an alternative option for those who couldn’t purchase the Bosch 4100 series table saw. If you have been an avid Powertoolbuzz follower, you know by now that I have written briefly in a couple of reviews about Bosch and Skil being the same companies under different names.
Well, not exactly the same, but Bosch does own SKIL and that's all there is to it. The two manufacturers release somewhat identical products with the inclusion or exclusion of certain key features. This phenomenon affects pricing – and hence maintains a healthy sense of competition between both companies.
SKIL 3410-02 Portable Table Saw is a marvelous power tool with overall satisfying results. The only apparent flaw with this model is the miter gauge’s dim readings. In a table saw owners’ world, it is all about measurements. Therefore, if the miter gauge is not on point, it affects the end users’ work output.
You can tweak a few settings to get by with good results, but I wouldn’t recommend taking a SKIL 3410-02 table saw out on a professional job site. Heck, if you are a contractor, you cannot risk an entire woodworking project’s integrity because of the miter gauge.
This is where things get groovy for hardcore wood workers. The SPT99-11 10" model by Skil comes with the guarantee and comfort factor which idealists yearn for whenever they take on big scale contracts. I like to think that SKIL released the SPT99-11 10" worm drive table saw model to make up for the absence of features that weren’t there in the 3410-02 series and therefore should not be left out of this best table saw review.
Plus, there’s a worm drive motor in this unit too. You can expect a high yield from this table saw. This is a fully fledged unit, except for the potential impact on your electricity consumption bill. Anything with a worm drive motor consumes more voltage as compared to a direct drive.
Dewalt DW745 may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but this table saw has got a lot going on under the hood. Beyond the striking bold yellow color theme, this table saw offers a boatload of tools, accessories and stability improvements over its predecessors and therefore should be included in each best table review list. As usual, this product comes backed up with a robust lifetime guarantee. Rest assured, you can easily find parts and replacements from company reps located anywhere within the States.
This is a compact contractor table saw. It is perfect for fieldwork and any range of DIY projects. The overall noise emission is low, which ensures that you can use the product within residential areas if it comes to that. Normally, I like to work in my garage, or prefer a separate work area where my neighbors don’t interfere with my sh*t. Since power tools can be a lot noisy, you have to be careful with their placement and setting.
The reason I am recommending the DW745 Dewalt table saw in this table saw review as being the best table saw is because it seems to be an all rounder type of power tool. Price wise, it is not too high as if to discourage first timers from making a purchase. Likewise, the price isn’t set too low, so that professional buyers are made to think that maybe the table saw quality is inferior to other products.
Carbide is a tough material and offers a wide range of usefulness over stainless steel counterparts. However, if the blade tips are bent, or there is evidence of physical deformity, carbide parts need to be properly repaired by an expert.
This is one of the main reasons as to why people prefer table saws with stainless steel blades. As stated at the beginning of this best table saw review, the best bet would be to invest in carbide tipped blades. These are standard blades with carbide tips to ensure the high amount of toughness vs. resilience factor as normally expected from solid carbide made products.
The aforementioned table saws in this best table saw review are just the tip of the iceberg; the power tool market extends over thousands of brands and products by the day. In time, this table saw review will get an update with the slight inclusion of latest models of table saws.
You are more than welcome to do your own research. If you are thinking of online shopping, my advice would be to consult with fellow table saw users at different forums. It is the one place where the user community honestly expresses their opinions and where you will find many honest table saw reviews mentioning which stuff works and which doesn’t and many other things.
The models discussed in this table saw comparison review were tried and tested for their performance. I made an effort to isolate each table saw’s case as a unique opportunity to measure its output. This helped me to eliminate a lot of unnecessary brands and products in the long run.
I understand that within the next few months, these same companies will come up with better table saw models with perkier benefits and features. Therefore, don’t forget to pay Powertoolbuzz a visit from time to time; I’ll be adding a lot more to this table saw review via a dedicated update system or sign up for our weekly newsletter to stay in the loop.
